I've managed to shift my body enough to pull on the cord next to the bed. I can hear a buzzer going off somewhere, but no-one comes, no matter how much I pull on it.

I'm definately in a hospital. Can smell the sterileness of the place, but there's something else in the air as well, something rotten and fetid. Don't think I'll be able to get back to sleep, although I'm dead tired. Got a headache as well, could be from hunger. Body's still burning, but I can move both arms now. Whole of my back shoots with pain when I move, and I feel as if I'm swimming in my own sweat. Beneath the bedsheets and my gown, I found sores on my body, but only one of them has opened and bled. Must have been lying here for a while.

I've pulled the IV needle from my hand. There was nothing in the bag anyway. Pulled some heart monitor cables from my chest as well. No point keeping them on, the heart monitor is dead, and so is just about every other electronic device around me. The dim light above me seems to be some sort of emergency light.

Need to get out of this bed and try to move. Legs fell like lead weights though. It's going to take a bit of time to get out. Hope I don't fall trying.
